Musicals at Richter will open with revue June 21

Musicals at Richter, the longest-running outdoor theater in Connecticut, will kick off its 29th season Friday, June 21, with “Some Enchanted Evening: The Songs of Rodgers and Hammerstein,” a revue celebrating the most beloved songbook in musical theater, playing through June 29.

Staged on the grounds of the Richter Arts Center, 100 Aunt Hack Road, in Danbury, performances take place outdoors under the stars Friday through Sunday evenings through Saturday, June 29 at 8:30 p.m., with an added performance Thursday, June 27.

Directed by MAR Artistic Director Donald Birely of New York City and Lauren Nicole Sherwood of Norwalk, the production features a large cast of local performers and a youth ensemble under the musical direction of Dan Koch of Millbrook, N.Y. Grounds open at 7:15 p.m. for picnicking, with the show at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $23 for adults, $18 for seniors and $15 for students and children.

For Sunday performances and the added show on Thursday, June 27, tickets are $18 for adults, $14 for seniors and $12 for students and children. Group rates and chair rentals are available, and a snack/soft drink concession is on site.
