The Friends of John Jay Homestead and the Rotary Club of Bedford-Armonk plan a July 4 celebration of America’s founding at the Independence Day Fair from 11 to 4 at John Jay Homestead.

Families are invited to hear the reading of the Declaration of Independence and sign a copy, then stay for the family fun including sheep herding, bee keeping, blacksmith and cavalry demonstrations, historic house tours, crafts, hayrides, colonial games, live music, and plenty of food from the grill.  New this year are the Carriage Barn Education and Visitor Center and six Discovery Centers around the property.

Admission to the grounds, Carriage Barn, Discovery Centers and Reading is free; food, house tours and some special activities are available by ticket purchase. John Jay Homestead State Historic Site is  at 400 Jay Street in Katonah, N.Y.
