Charlie Karp’s Musical Memoir, Mon., Aug. 21, 7 p.m., doors open 6:30, Westport Historical Society, 25 Avery Place, across from Town Hall. Karp’s musical experiences include opening for The Doors at while at Westport junior high school student; in junior year, invited to join Buddy Miles Band; recorded his first 45 at age 16, opened for Jimi Hendrix at The Forum in Los Angeles and for Three Dog Night at Cotton Bowl, recorded with Arthur Lee; got his own record contract with RCA Records as co-founder of White Chocolate with David Hull, all before age 20. He will share some stories while performing music that inspired him, playing his guitar alongside keyboardist, bringing alive soundtrack that shaped the years 1964 through 1972.
